このアルバムの発売当時、タイム、シークレット・メッセージ、バランス・オブ・パワーと従来のE.L.O.サウンドからだんだん離れていっているようで寂しく思っていました。ところが、このアルバムの15年後に「ズーム」を聴いて失望してから、「バランス・オブ・パワー」って結構いいアルバムなのではと再評価しています。いい曲もかなり含まれていますよね。

ELOの80年代最後の作品で、発売当時もそれほど話題にならなかったが、これがなかなかの良作。80年代中期らしくｴﾚｸﾄﾛ・ﾎﾟｯﾌﾟ色が強いが、ﾒﾛﾃﾞｨｱｽで親しみやすい曲が満載。本編収録曲の別ﾊﾞｰｼﾞｮﾝなどのﾎﾞｰﾅｽﾄﾗｯｸ入りのﾘﾏｽﾀｰ盤がｵｽｽﾒ。ﾁｰﾌﾟなｼﾞｬｹで損してる気も。
