人気ガイド本で紹介されたこともあり近年中古レコード市場でもプレミア化が加速しているシティ・ポップ・フリークからクラブDJまで垂涎の1枚が遂に復刻！一般的にはビクター/invitation時代の所謂“リゾート路線”のサウンドで知られるシンガーソングライター、二名敦子の全曲洋楽カヴァーからなる知る人ぞ知るデビュー・アルバム(別名義では本作以前に歌謡曲路線のシングル＆アルバムを残している)。「ワン・ノート・サンバ」「イパネマの娘」「ウェイブ」「おいしい水」といったボサ・ノヴァ名曲から「MR.ボージャングルス」「明日に架ける橋」といったアメリカン・ポピュラー、そしてラテン定番「キサス・キサス・キサス」「ベサメ・ムーチョ」などを大胆にも日本語詞に置き換えカヴァー。サウンド・プロデュースを手掛けたのは入江純、アレンジは当時ザ・スクエア在籍中の和泉宏隆と分担。そしてもちろんバックはザ・スクエア、そしてギタリストの北島健二らが参加。全編ハイ・クオリティなシティ・ポップ～フュージョン・サウンドが展開されるが特に圧倒的なのは高速サンバ・アレンジによる「MAN OR BOY(イパネマの娘)」だろう。ここまで現在のクラブリスナーにも受け入れられるトラックはそうないはず。最近、村田和人(ムーン・レコード時代の5作品が今年5月にリイシュー予定)とライヴ活動を再開し、当時のファンにも再注目されている今、まさにタイムリーな復刻です!!
