豊富なライヴ・テイクや、「Piece of My Heart」の未発表バージョンも収録！1970年10月4日、27歳の若さで夭逝した不世出の女性ロック・シンガー、ジャニス・ジョプリン。エイミー・バーグ監督作品として制作された、ジャニスの半生に迫るドキュメンタリー映画『LittleGirl Blue』のサウンドトラック。

映画はジャニス絶頂期のレア映像を中心に、ビッグ・ブラザー・アンド・ザ・ホールディング・カンパニーと共にモントレー・ポップ・フェスティバルで演奏して注目を集めた頃から、1969年のウッドストック、1970年の「フェスティバル特急」と呼ばれた列車に乗ってカナダツアーを行った頃までを描き、家族や友人、同じロック界の仲間へのインタビュー等も含まれる。サウンドトラックには、これら貴重なライヴ音源のほか、今作にて初CD化音源として「Piece ofMy Heart」の未発表ライブ・バージョンも収録される。映画の日本公開は未定。

Janis Joplin

伝説の女性ロック・シンガー、ジャニス・ジョプリンは1943年1月19日、テキサス州ポート・アーサーに生まれた。幼少の頃から絵を描くのが好きで、頭の良い子だったといわれるが、テキサスの保守的な土地柄に馴染めず、友達の少ない孤独な少女時代を送ったともいわれている。
