When I was seven years old my grandfather set my feet walking on my musical journey. He began teaching me songs on the piano. He was not formally trained nor did he read much music, but he had a keen ear for good melodies and nice chord progressions, and loved to play whenever he could. Although I was very young, he began by introducing me to the standards and western music... Tea for Two, Come to the Cabaret, I left My Heart in San Francisco, Kansas City, Crazy, Steel Guitar Rag, It had to be You, and the like. By the time I was twelve I began to develop a love for Funk and R&B. It was the 1970's so it was all over the radio. I listened to Wild Cherry, Average White Band, Earth Wind and Fire, and Three Dog Night, I was in several bands in high school with my brother and friends. We were very active on our church so we played mostly for youth groups and summer camps in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1982 I graduated from Rincon Valley Christian School in Santa Rosa, CA. By then, music had changed and was headed for big hair and torn jeans!!! Although I enjoyed the music of Journey, Lover Boy, and Night Ranger I listened mainly to artists like Michael McDonald, Billy Joel, Michael Sembello, Roby Duke, Brian Duncan, Michael Jackson, Maurice White, Al Jearreau, David Foster, Ambrosia, and Toto. These are the bands that really formed my style. I love a great groove. I love simple parts, that when combined make magic. I have played mainly in the Christian arena. I have performed in churches for the last 30 years and have led worship services for as long. I have opened concerts for Silverwind, Steve Archer, John Fischer, Denny Corrrell, and First Call. Now that my 3 boys are raised and have left the nest, I am once again pursuing my dream. Over the past few years I have written many songs but I have put together this collection because they were written in unique times in my life. I pray they will speak to the deep places of your your heart.... where you really exist. These are songs about my family, my struggles, and the questions I still have about God and me. Join me on my journey of trying to figure out why we are here and what we are supposed to do on this crazy planet at this crazy time. From 'But You Do' a funky song about the love of my life, to 'Climb' an inpirational ballad about my middle sons' recent divorce, you will enjoy the great musicianship and writing on this project. 'Heal Me' is a stirring song about our inability to survive without the hand of God. 'Long Arm of Love' deals with the idea that we are being pursued by God and we don't stand a chance of outrunning His Love. So pour yourself a hot cup of coffee, sit down on your couch, turn up the stereo, and enjoy !!!!
