Benny Golson

1929年1月米国フィラデルフィア生まれ。9歳でピアノを始め、14歳の時サックスに転向。53年よりタッド・ダメロン・グループやディジー・ガレスピー楽団などでテナー奏者として活躍し、58年にアート・ブレイキー&ザ・ジャズ・メッセンジャーズの一員となる。この時に作・編曲家としての才能を開花させ「アイ・リメンバー・ク
