Deluxe 20th Anniversary two CD edition includes the remastered audio of the original album plus an entire disc of 10 unreleased demos from the era handpicked by Morissette from her archives, offering a deeper and more personal look at the classic album. Jagged Little Pill was originally released on June 13, 1995. The album was co-written with producer, Glen Ballard, who introduced a pop sensibility to Morissette's bitter angst. The record produced six successful singles, including You Oughta Know, Ironic, You Learn, Hand in My Pocket, and Head over Feet. The album was a worldwide success, topping the charts in 10 countries, including the UK, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, and the Netherlands; it was #1 in her native Canada for 24 weeks, as well as number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 for 13 non-consecutive weeks.

何といってもアラニスのデビュー作ですね。デビュー作で売れたアーティストは2枚目以降落ち目になるのがジンクスですが、アラニスもそれに近いかも知れません。落ち目とまでは至っていないと思いますが、やはり1枚目の本作が最高傑作と思います。一曲目からガツンと入って、”You Learn” ”Ironic” ”Wake Up” Bonus Trackまで、良い感じに仕上がっています。是非聴いてみて下さい。

このアルバム聴くと、彼女が後続アーティストにいかに多大な与えた影響を与えたかよくわかる。日本の女性シンガーソングライターなんかほとんどみんな何らかの影響受けたんじゃないかってくらいに。。。このひねくれよじれたセンス、ちょっと下世話な感じがいい。そして何より力が漲り溢れてる。彼女は多くの女性に力と勇気を与えた。
