1930年もしくは1932年7月2日、米国ペンシルバニア州ピッツバーグに生まれる。本名はフリッツ・ジョーンズ。ジャズ・ピアニスト。ハイスクール時代にプロとして活動を開始。58年に録音した『バット・ノット・フォー・ミー』が話題となり、カデット、アーゴなどに多くの作品を残す。マイルス・デイヴィスに影響を与え、『アマ
