ラザレフ＆ボリショイの『雪娘』 !

付随音楽を書くなどチャイコフスキーも惚れ込んだオストロフスキーの幻想戯曲『雪娘』をリムスキー＝コルサコフ自身がオペラ台本用に書き換え、1882年に完成した歌劇『雪娘』の全曲録音はラザレフ＆ボリショイ劇場の演奏。
　雪娘のイリーナ・ジューリナや、ベレンディ皇帝のイーゴル・モロゾフなどソリスト陣の熱唱、ラザレフが統率するオーケストラと合唱団の研ぎ澄まされたサウンドは、西側の名門ボリショイ劇場の底力と言えるでしょう。1987年の録音。ディジパック仕様。（東京エムプラス）

民謡を引用した合唱曲がいい。 ピアノが第４幕で効果的につかわれているが、オペラのオーケストレションでピアノが使われる例はそんなに多くないように思う。 （ここでもそんなにたくさん使われているわけではないのだが。） ロシアの香りたっぷりだが、全体的にインパクが弱く、いつの間にか終わっていたという感じだ。
