    カーヴァーが作家として歩み初めた頃から死の床まで、身近にいた人々が見たその時々のカーヴァーの姿をインタビューをもとに描き出していく。 カーヴァーがいかに人々に愛され、尊敬されていたのかを改めて感じた。 ダグラス・アンガーの、カーヴァーの作品の語法は「不在を通して存在を語ることだ」との指摘は本質を見抜いていてなるほどと思った。 このように、カーヴァー作品を読み解くいろいろな視点を知るのも興味深い。
