ごめんなさい。日本で発売されたＬＰレコー...

ごめんなさい。日本で発売されたＬＰレコードに入っていて再発のＣＤに入っていないのは「獄中の手紙」ではなくJumboです。ちなみにIDEAはUS盤とUK盤がジャケットから違っていて、収録曲も違っていました。「獄中の手紙」はシングルとアルバムでVersionが違うという噂もありましたが真偽のほどはわかりません。日本盤は前述の2曲とも入っていたのですが、どうせCDで再発するならJumboに加えてJumboのＢ面「恋するシンガー」も入れてほしかったです、佳曲です。

Bee Geesの多くのアルバムの中で独特の空気を持つものの一つ。このBee Geesらしくない“初夏のような明るさ”はなんだろう？　いまだにわからない。M-1ははBarryとRobinのバランスが抜群で、このアルバムの中でもオススメの1曲だが、この曲以外はBarryとRobinがバラバラに自己を主張している。この流れは次のODESSAでさらに際立つのだが･･･。ところで再発盤に「獄中の手紙」が入っていないのはどういうことだろう？

ジョークはビージーズの最高の曲そのほかにもツバメ飛ぶ頃､キルバーン.タワーズなどこのアルバムもいい曲がたくさん。１枚目からこの３枚目まではほんとに叙情的で美しい。メンバーはまだ20代の前半だったことを考えるとつくづく天才だなあと思います。
