A Day In New York - Tribute to Jobim and Brazilian Music

In response to many fans who were impressed by 'Casa', the tribute album to Antonio Carlos Jobim', the sequel 'A Day In New York' was just released from Morelenbaum2/Sakamoto.Brazilian cellist Jacques Morelenbaum and his wife, vocalist Paula and noted Japanese pianist/composer Ryuichi Sakamoto teamed up last year for tribute album 'Casa', on which the trio performed songs by Antonio Carlos Jobim. All songs were recorded in the house of the late bossa nova master. Released only in Japan at first, 'Casa' then saw the international release due to great response from fans in US, France and Jobim's homeland, Brazil.
The three artists joined again this time in New York to record live songs by Jobin and other classic Brazilian tunes. The result is 'A Day In New York', which was just released internationally, two months earlier than Japanese release. The set features such Jobin's classics 'Desafinado' and 'Insensatez' as well as 'Chage De Saudade'.
