グラミー5冠の快挙を達成！
音楽業界最高の栄誉とされる第49回グラミー賞の授賞式が11日、当地のステープルズセンターで行われ、女性カントリー・グループ、Dixie Chicksが主要3部門を含む5冠の栄光に輝きました。
最新アルバム『Taking The Long Way』が「Album Of The Year」（年間最優秀アルバム賞）に輝いたのをはじめ、同アルバムからの最初のシングル・ナンバーとなった“Not Ready to Make Nice”が「Song Of The Year」（年間最優秀楽曲賞）と「Record Of The Year」年間最優秀レコード賞を受賞し、主要部門をほぼ独占する形となりました。※「Best New Artist」（最優秀新人賞）は同じくカントリー・ポップス系のCarrie Underwoodが受賞。
他にも、カントリー部門でも2つの賞を獲得するなど、ノミネートされた全部門で受賞する快挙を成し遂げ、今回のグラミー賞は、Dixie Chicksの独壇場となりました。
ちなみに今回のグラミーでは、John Mayerがシングル“Waiting On The World To Change”で「Best Male Pop Vocal Performance」、アルバム『Continuum』で「Best Pop Vocal Album」 の2部門を受賞。 Red Hot Chili Peppersがシングル“Dani California”で「Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal」と「Best Rock Song」、アルバム『Stadium Arcadium』で「Best Rock Album」と「Best Boxed Or Special Limited Edition Package」の合計4部門を受賞するなど、昨年に引き続いてロック勢の活躍が目立ちました。
