付録CD：ベスト・オブ・ブリティッシュ～モダン・マスターワークス
BBC委嘱作特集～世界初演録音多数！

BBCが録音した音源を付録CDに使用するという、BBCならではの企画で人気を博すイギリスの月刊誌「BBCミュージック・マガジン」。
　今回の付録CDは、 BBCが委嘱した作品の録音を集めたものです。聖歌隊出身の少年作曲家マシュー・ケリーによる美しい『アレルヤ』に始まり、マックス・エルンストのダダイズム作品に触発されたゲーリー・カーペンターの『ダダヴィル』、チベットなどの打楽器も駆使して浄土を描いたジョナサン・ハーヴィーのフルオケ作品『浄土に向けて（towards a pure land）』、ラヴェルのピアノ曲『鏡』の中の『悲しげな鳥たち』をコリン・マシューズがオーケストレーションした作品と面白い作品が続いたあとに、3人のティンパニやオルガン、フルオケにコーラスというジュディス・ウィアーの大迫力作品『Stars, Night, Music and Light』がビエロフラーヴェクの指揮で壮大に鳴り響くなど変化に富む構成になっていて、オーディオ的にも楽しめます。（HMV）
