ロックアルバムとしては全体的に静かな印象のアルバム。サウンドや楽器の使い方が全曲似通っており、それがまさにオペラとして統一された印象を与える結果となっている。ピート・タウンゼンドのソングライターとしての実力がいかんなく発揮されていると言える。ザ・フーというバンドをこれから知りたいと思っている人にとって、このアルバムから入るべきかどうかは疑問であるが、ザ・フーのファンではなかった多くの音楽ファンを注目させたのもこのアルバムだろう。

オリジナルアルバムを収録したディスク１はミックスが随分変わった。ピートの仕事って印象。やはりﾞOVERTUREﾞのムーンは凄い！ディスク２も興味深い音源ばかり。
