聴けば聴くほど、噛めば噛むほど味が出るスルメアルバム。ノラ・ジョーンズの変化についていけないファンはゆっくり味わってみる事を薦めます。

デビュー作から丁度10年、5枚目のニュー･アルバム。プロデューサーのデンジャー･マウスとの二人三脚で創り上げられ、ノラ自身の失恋が反映されたダークな光を放つ作品。歌詞にはリアルな感情がストレートに表現されたネガティヴな言葉が並んでいて、とてもヘヴィな内容だが、一曲一曲のクォリティーが高く、サウンドも歌声もこれまでにない多様性があって、とても刺激的な作品に仕上がっている。1965年の映画”Mudhoney”のポスターを捩ったジャケットのアートワークもカッコいい

この人の場合、カントリーなのかジャズなのか良くわからなかったが、今回のアルバムはロックぽく、しかも革新性に富んでいる素晴しいアルバムに仕上がっている。もはやジャンル分け不可能なアーティストといえる。本人もともかく周辺人物の才能を駆使して一つのアルバムを仕上げてる感。お勧め盤。
