音源発掘と旧譜再発のつづくhillだが、これも凄い。BLUE NOTEの全カタログ中でも屈指のフリー寄りの音で、自分にはj.c.mosesというドラマーを“発見”できたという収穫も大きかった。hill、ここでは数曲ハープシコードを弾いてます。

SamRiversのﾌﾞﾙｰﾉｰﾄ最高傑作はこの作品ではないですか？１曲目の演奏でついに本性を丸出しに。強力です。ﾌﾘｰｼﾞｬｽﾞです。CD化された全８曲でﾎﾞﾘｭｰﾑ的にもまとまった感があります。他方、最もﾌﾘｰ寄りの時期にあったAnderwHillですが、私はShorterっぽい幻想的な音楽だなと感じました。Shorterよりもやや薄暗さ寂しさ増量といった印象です。
