フランスが生んだ歴史的人物・セルジュ・ゲンズブールの遅すぎる（当時30歳）記念すべきデビュー・アルバム（1958年発表）。ボリス・ヴィアンの『僕はスノッヴ』にも影響を受けながら、ニヒルでシュールな作品を創り上げた。アラン・ゴラゲールがアレンジャーとして参加しているせいかジャズへ傾倒したサウンドも特徴的。
