アンダーワールドのイメージと言えば、深い深い海の底に沈んでいくようなディープでダークな音世界。しかし今作は一筋の光が差し込むようなポジティブで希望に溢れる煌びやかな音世界。

今までに無かった、時代の一歩先を行った音かと言われれば決してそうじゃないと思う。 前作Oblivion with bellsが陰なら、Barkingは陽。 ただどちらも一歩間違えれば陽にも陰にもなりえる。 その辺はリスナーに委ねてる感もある。
