評価が難しいアルバムだ リアルタイムから３０年以上も経過して、最近はフィリー詣でを特に見直している中でこのアルバムを買ってみた シグマサウンドで録音しているけどフィリーの雰囲気は微塵も感じられない（強いて言えばボーナストラックのＭ９のドラム、そしてＭ１１のストリングスは間違いなくフィリーを感じさせると思うが・・・） ＭＦＳＢのミュージシャンをラリー・ワシントン以外起用していないのだから当然なのだが、当初はヴィンス・モンタナとかの起用も考えていたらしいが、このサウンドならわざわざシグマに出向いて行って録音しなくても良かったのではないのか と思える もし！このボウイの目指す音楽にあのＭＦＳＢの華麗なストリングスとハリス、ベイカー、ヤングのミュージシャンが作り出すサウンドでやっていたらもっと軟弱なポップなミュージックになっていた可能性もある（何もフィリーサウンドを否定している表現ではない） ニューマークやウィークス、そしてマクドナルドのリズム隊を起用して、サンボーン、ヴァンドロス等と録音するのなら、そのままＮＹ録音で良かったのではないのか？と思える 当時はフェイムの斬新なリズムに惹かれシングル盤も買い、今でもこの曲は本当にソウルを感じさせる名曲だと思うし、当時ボウイがソウルに傾倒しこのアルバムを作った事は理解出来るけど、このアルバムはフィリー詣での観点から見たら、フィリーサウンドを感じさせるアルバムでないのは確かだと思う0 people agree with this review

ｱﾒﾘｶでの地位を固めるきっかけになったとされる「良質のﾌﾟﾗｽﾃｨｯｸ･ｿｳﾙ」ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑです、よね！中でも注目されたのは、John Lennonと録音したM6･8で、M8はｱﾒﾘｶでﾅﾝﾊﾞｰ･ﾜﾝ！本作が新作だといわれて初めて聴いても、全く違和感がないのでは？本当にｸｵﾘﾃｨｰの高い作品群というのは、いつの時代にも媚びず、怯まず、退かず！？？？この頃の（骸骨のように痩せ細った病的な）風貌と嗄れ声は、very cool！ｼﾞｬｹ写もvery nice！貴方達はこれまでにM4や5、9等のような「絶妙なｻｳﾝﾄﾞ」を聴いたことがありますか？！1 people agree with this review

このｱﾙﾊﾞﾑの評価は、勿論最高です。でも今回の評価は、限定盤の評価になります。2007年最新ﾘﾏｽﾀｰとうたっている割には、①の最後にﾏｽﾀﾘﾝｸﾞﾐｽの箇所が有り。CDのﾎﾞｰﾅｽﾄﾗｯｸと付属品DVDの内容が、乏しいな。そういう事で評価は、下げざるを得ないです。1 people agree with this review
