HMV Review
Erykah Baduのアルバム・タイトルからとったUKのニューバンド、Mamas Gunは、シンガーソングライター、デザイナー、マルチ･インストゥルメンタルを担当するAndy Plattsを中心とするプロジェクト。AndyはこれまでCorinne Bailey Raeのアルバムに参加、昨年はCraig Davidのオープニング・アクトとしてUKツアーを同行して注目されていた逸材で、本作はマイケル･ジャクソン作品にクレジットされているRod Tempertonと制作を進めたというデビューアルバム。Marvin GayeやStevie Wonderのような70年代ソウルのフレイヴァと、Sly & The Family Stoneのようなファンクネス、JamiroquaiやMikaのようなグルーヴィーなポップさ、そしてD'Angeloの持つスムースさも兼ね備えたサウンドとAndyの歌は非常に魅惑的！
