元サンハウスの菊(柴山俊之)と元ルースターズの花田裕之のアコースティック・デュオ、菊花賞のライヴ・アーカイブシリーズのVol.11〜14(Vol.25までリリース予定)。それぞれ2005年の５月から８月にかけての大阪、広島、下北沢、新宿でのライヴを収録。例外的に騒音寺と共演したバンドセットなどもあるが、基本はヴォーカルとギターだけときわめてシンプル。レパートリーはサンハウス時代の楽曲から洋楽カヴァー、懐かしの歌謡曲と幅広い。特に「ミネソタの卵売り」や「朝まで待てない」「恋の山手線」など、実際にリアルタイムで聴いていたと思われる歌謡曲カヴァーが楽しい(Vol.14は歌謡曲特集)。サンハウス時代のヒット曲も、加齢ユニットならではの滋味を感じる。武骨なヴォーカルと飾り気のないギターが織り成す豊穣な世界。軽量級ユニットゆえの気楽さも大きいと思う。(杉)(CDジャーナル データベースより)
