グラミーも2冠を達成し、キャリア史上最高のセールスと共に大成功を収めた我らがGreen Day！
メッセージ性の強い作品でありながら、Green Dayならではのキャッチーな楽曲とアルバムのコンセプトが絶妙なコンビネーションを見せ、クライマックスには感動を呼び起こすほどの大作となった前作。
それに続く形で、今作『21st Century Breakdown』も、同じく3部構成のコンセプト・アルバムとなっているそうです。
今回の制作にあたって、メンバー達はやはり、前作の驚異的なセールスから、それを超えねばならないという葛藤に苦しんだそうですが、あえて真っ直ぐに進むことを決断。そして、今作も現状のアメリカを風刺した内容の作品が完成したそうです。
プロデューサーには、Nirvanaの名盤『Nevermaind』などを手掛けた元Garbage のブッチ・ヴィグを迎えて制作され、今回もポップなナンバーだけでなく、様々な楽曲が収録されるとのこと！
とにかく早く聴きたいっ！さらに、夏くらいに来日（？）なんてのもあったら嬉しいですね！

Lollapalooza 2010で久々に観たが鳥肌が立った。 昔はパンク好きで聴いていたがそのうち飽きて聴かなくなってた。 しかしこのバンドは想像を超えるほどの進化をしていたよ。1 people agree with this review

サウンドはいい。何度か考えて手を加えたであろう丁寧なアルバムです。しかし、どうしても一本調子の感がつきまとってそこが惜しい。自分がだいたいラップの洗礼にあってないからか、どうかするとメロディーとサビのツボにヒラメキと工夫を探してしまう。影も湿気も異物もシャレも含んだややポップなバンドになってもらいたい。サウンドはハードでそのままでいいから。1 people agree with this review

ＧＲＥＥＮ ＤＡＹっていうバンドが、ここまでカッコイイバンドになるとは、、、とにかく素晴らしい。 評価が様々だったので、今頃になって購入した事を後悔しております。彼らは、進化し続けてるなぁ。 ＰＵＮＫ ＲＯＣＫじゃあないって？そんな事は関係ない、ナッシングです。 薄っぺらいメロコアバンドより、ハートに届くビート盛りだくさん。ＲＯＣＫの名盤です。1 people agree with this review
