６０年代のキンクスのアルバムで、特に好きなアルバムです。ところで再発ですが、そろそろ「シンク・ビジュアル」「ＵＫジャイブ」を何とかしましょう！原盤もユニバーサル系だから、再発お願いしたいです。今持ってるＣＤ音悪いからねえ。3 people agree with this review

ヴィレッジグリーンからマスウェルヒルビリーズまでがキンクスの黄金期、この間4枚ともそれぞれ大傑作だが、どれか一枚と言われればこれに尽きる。今日本でも起きている田園崩壊、故郷崩壊をテーマにしておりその流れを防ごうとする人々を歌う。レイの歌、コーラス、くぐもったイングランドの空を表現するようなセピア色の演奏、全てが60年代末のイングランドのカントリーサイドにつながっていく。0 people agree with this review

彼らお得意のコンセプトアルバムなんだけど、全然堅苦しくないし、非常に牧歌的な情景が浮かぶ傑作です。どうして、こんな素晴らしい作品が売れなかったのだろう？日本では、確かにキンクスはキワモノ扱いみたいで売れなかったけど、再評価しようよ。フーやストーンズと同じくらいの重要なポジションに いるね。有名だけど、⑨は甲斐バンドの裏切りの街角にそっくりですよー。2 people agree with this review
