何度でも繰り返し聴きたくなるアルバムなんてそうそうありませんが、このシカゴのファーストはその内の一作。荒々しさと洗練さが同居した熱気溢れる演奏に優れた楽曲。ロックの素晴らしさを(再)認識させてくれる60年代最後を飾る名作。この作品を60年代ベスト100に選出しなかったレココレの選者の耳は節穴でしょう。1 people agree with this review

ファーストアルバムにして最高傑作。全篇で、ジミヘンにも賞賛されたテリー・キャスのギターが唸り、ブラスが生き生きと鳴っている様は今でも古さを感じない。さらに、当時メインのソング・ライターであったロバート・ラムの活躍ぶりは特筆に値する。このアルバムでバンドは全精力を使い果たしてしまったのか・・・とも感じさせる。私にとっては、無人島に持っていきたいアルバムの内の１枚です。若いロック・フリークにも是非聴いてほしい。0 people agree with this review

多くのロックアーティストが多様な音楽性を活発に創造していたロック／ポップ史上最も重要な６０年代後半期、彼らにおいてもその時代の雰囲気を充分に感じながら活動し始めたと思うのだが、一時の花を咲かせる為でも無く、流行に乗ってのお遊び感覚でも無く、確固たる信念を持ってとても真剣に真面目に７人が取り組み始めたのだと想像出来る。その結果、彼ら７人は一曲一曲の完成度の高い作品を立て続けに数多く世に発表し続け受け入れられたのだと思う。1 people agree with this review
