良いですね！！さすがSACDの音質！！というよりもバンドとして各メンバーのフレーズが明瞭になっている。しかし、人によっては5.1サラのやりすぎ感が強い？ジョン・ロードのOrgが後ろから聴こえる曲もあり....賛否両論。私としては◎ですが...初っ端の「ハイウェイスター」にノックアウト。名曲は普遍なり！！0 people agree with this review

評価はさておき、97リミックスはオマケ以上の聴き応えあり。本編のリマスターの音質は良好で聴き易い。「インロック」と比較すると、随分と余裕ある演奏が繰り広げられ、一般的なへヴィネスのイメージとは異なる。録音も良く、個々のメンバーの技術的な成熟もあり、完成度の面で見ると、こちらが優れている。各曲ともに非常に練られており、音の饗宴の様相。ギターとオルガンの音を重ね合わせたり、掛け合いによる妙技は最高度に達しており、数々の名曲の要となるが、ここでも「ハイウエイ・スター」、「スモーク・オン・ザ・ウオーター」、二大名曲に顕著。噛めば噛むほどに味が出るような音のセンスに酔わされる。ハードと言うより、ウオームな質感で懐が深い。「インロック」は歴史的名盤、「マシンヘッド」はパープルの最高傑作と言える。これに挟まれた第二期のアルバムの評価が低いのは相対的な事で、他の二つのアルバムこそ、パープルでしか出せない内容が詰まっている。実力面でツェッぺリンと比較されるが、良きライバルはヒープ。サバスの方がツェッぺリン寄りで、HR四天王かな。何にせよ、70年代ブリティシュハードロック最高！数多のバンドの希少音源復刻に期待。2 people agree with this review

今更ですが、ブリティッシュ・ハードロックの名盤の一枚。リッチーのアドリブにバロックを感じたり、ジョンロードのキーボードに賛美歌があったり、いろいろと楽しめます。様式美という評論家もいますが、７０年台当時は、訳わからずギターコピーにのめり込んだものです。0 people agree with this review
