デビュー以来の所属レーベルであるワーナー・ブラザーズから最後のリリースとなる通算12作目のアルバムのタイトルは『Hard Candy』！長年にわたってMadonnaの代理人を務めるリズ・ローゼンバーグ曰く、マドンナは「キャンディーが大好き」だからということで、このスウィートなテーマを選んだとの事。
アルバムの全貌は見えていませんが、当代随一のスーパースター、Justin Timberlakeをフィーチャーした楽曲を複数収録予定で、プロデューサーとしてPharrell WilliamsやTimbalandd、Nate "Danja" Hills といった豪華な布陣を迎えヒップホップ/R&B色の濃い作品になる模様。

様々なサウンドにトライし、ファレルやティンバーランドとはいつかやるだろうと思っていたが、やっぱり相性は悪いね。黒人のグルーヴに完全に乗れてない。マドンナ自身もやっぱり躊躇するところがあったというか、避けてきた部分はあったと思うけど、やっぱり甘くないね。1 people agree with this review
