HMV Review

Portishead are Beth Gibbons, Adrian Utley and Geoff Barrow who together with Massive Attack and Trickey led the "Trip Hop" or "Bristol" scene in early 90's. Now the trio are releasing their long-awaited first-ever release in 10 years! A total of 11 tracks on the album have been indeed developed over the past 10 long years.

    10年たったのにほとんど変わってなかったので愕然とした。周囲の音楽シーンからの影響をほとんど受けずに、あの二枚のアルバムで確立してしまったポーティスヘッド性というものをここまで守り続けたのは並大抵ではない気がした。個人的な感想を勝手に演繹して、まるで聞いた者が皆そう感じているかのごとく書いているレビューには辟易するが、それでも彼らは姿勢を変えないのだろう。

    '08年発表｡ﾌﾞﾘｽﾄﾙ特有のﾍｳﾞｨな空気感を放つｴﾚｸﾄﾛﾆｯｸ･ｻｳﾝﾄﾞと儚い美しさに満ちたﾍﾞｽのｺﾝﾋﾞﾈｰｼｮﾝは､さらに研ぎ澄まされた凄みを発揮している｡ｻﾝﾌﾟﾘﾝｸﾞを排し生楽器へ｡ｸﾗｳﾄ･ﾛｯｸも注入された､彼らにしか生み出せない氷のようなﾍｳﾞｨ･ﾛｯｸ｡ﾒﾗﾝｺﾘｱが怒りと結託した時､美しく強靭なｶｳﾝﾀｰになることを証明した｡

    文句なしで2008年NO.1!! 映画の音にも興味がないと、やってることの凄さは伝わらないのかなー。レビューの評価低くて残念。。ここまで落ちた時の音像を封じ込めた作品は今まで聴いたことない。芸術品ですね。
