    『第一次黄金時代』とは何のことかわからないが(20世紀初頭・1920/30年代の同音楽祭の水準はより卓抜)、今回Kempe盤が出て卓越した指揮がこの長大な曲を如何に意味深く聴かせる事ができるかを証明してしまった点で、KeilberthにはWandererさんが仰る通り、望む所が多い。Hotter, Neidlinger, Varnay, Uhde, Brouwenstijnは、過去のどの時代に比較しても遜色無いと思うが、歌手も全員偉大とは云えない。Wagnerでは如何せん指揮が最重要でイタリア・オペラの様に歌手だけ聴く訳にはいかない。このdiscのrelease自体は有難く、敢えて粗探しをすればです

    全曲盤CDを聴いての感想です。55年の、それもライブ録音ですから、録音チームとしては何かを採り何かを捨てる必要があったでしょう。結局歌手達の声を残すことを優先したようですが、それは大正解。歌手達の見事さをこれほど実感させられる録音を他には知りません。代わりにオケの方は迫力今一つ。カイルベルトの指揮も当初の批評から想像していたよりもずっと早いテンポで淡々としているように感じられます。これは偉大な歌手達を聴くべき録音であると思われます。

    第一次黄金時代の記録としての価値は測り知れない。だが歌手はピカ一だけどカイルベルトの手腕はいまいち。表情、テンポ、ダイナミクス、呼吸感といったニュアンスの変化が足りず単調になっているのが惜しまれる。細かく聞き込むとクナは無論、似たアプローチのクラウスやベームと比較しても明らか。吉田翁が54年に聞いたはずなのにカイルベルトの指揮について書いていない（クナのパルジは絶賛）のも頷ける。
