    50年ほど前にイヴ・ナットでベートーヴェンの最後の三つのソナタに魅せられて以来、ナットに替わるものは中々出てこなかった。やっと出て来たのが、このギューラーとギレルスであった。これらのソナタはピアノを弾く際、右手が歌うことはもちろん、左手もペダルも単なる右手のサポートにとどまらずに歌うべき所では十分に歌って歌に深い響きを重ねなければ失望するだけでなく怒りさえ起こってくる、そのような曲であった。ど素人私にとってはこれらのソナタはいわば12本の指全部で深い歌を奏でるべき曲であった。そしてメロディもリズムも重すぎても軽すぎていけないのだ。ドイツ人で本格的なベートーヴェン弾きであるかのように言われていた、バックハウスは歌もリズムもでくの坊であったし、ケンプは両方ともふにゃふにゃであった。バレンボイムやアシュケナージなんぞは感じるべき所何も感治ずにノー天気に指を動かしているとしか思えなかった。期待したリヒテルもヴェルデニコフも重くダルであった。やっと音質では時代遅れとなりつつあるナットに代わり得る演奏が出てきてうれしい。しかし、ギューラーは30番を録音しておらず、ギレルスは32番を入れる前に力が尽きた。痛恨の極み。返す返すも残念至極。

    プリマドンナの歌のよう。やっぱり、ソプラノ・ドランマティコ・ダジリタかな。 なぜか、マリア・カラスの『ノルマ』を思い出しました。
