リオ・デ・ジャネイロ在住、1976年生まれの『パウロ・ムニツ』はまさにこれからの活躍に期待の気鋭のボサノヴァ・アーティスト。そんな彼が全編英語で歌い上げた名作「Trying to fool destiny」のジャパニーズ・エディションが登場!!　まるで日本人の心の琴線を熟知しているかのような作曲センス、ストリングス等から感じ取れるジャジーなアレンジ・センス、そして何よりも甘く優しく聴く人の心に響くその素敵な歌声は要注目の現在進行形ボサノヴァの逸品！　心地良く爪弾かれるギターを軸に、シャープなリズムと時折スキャットを交えた柔らかい歌声の温もりがダイレクトに伝わります。軽快にオープニングを飾る（1）、瑞々しいスキャットが感動的な名曲（2）←（最高です！）、可愛らしいメロディをついつい口ずさみたくなる（5）、陽気なサンバのリズムに乗せた（6）、往年のボサノヴァの名曲を思わせる（8）、ラストを飾る切なさが滲み出たタイトル曲に至るまで、捨て曲無しと言うレベルを飛び越えて、全編、全曲素敵な楽曲で満たされた充実の傑作です!!　さらにボーナストラックは、いずれもギター一本と彼の歌声（全曲ポルトガル語）と言うジョアン・ジルベルト的なスタイルでさらに彼の懐の深さを見せつけてくれます。まさに非の打ち所ナシ!!

    全編英語詩で中でも「Smile at Me」は絶品です。素晴らしいボサノヴァを聞かせてくれています。さらに国内盤にはボーナストラックが３曲はいっており、その中でも「Perdao」はポルトガル語で歌われアルバム通して一番好きな曲です。優しげであり悲しげでもある彼の綺麗な声に酔いしれてみてはいかがでしょう。オススメです。

    レビューのコメントが全く大袈裟でなく、その通りの素晴らしさでした！！「彼の歌声を知らなかったら音楽ライフを損してしまう…」と断言できてしまう程、魅力溢れるサウンドで、何度聴いても感動します。輸入盤を買いましたが、ボーナストラックが間違いなく良さそうなので国内盤も購入します！！
