師と仰ぐボリス・ヴィアンにささげられたゲンズブールの映画監督処女作。ジェーン・バーキンとの愛の結晶’Je T'aime Moi Non Plus’は、そのセンセーショナルなバーキンの喘ぎ声ばかりが謳われていますが、この歌のメロディの美しさはセルジュの最高傑作。加えてそれに匹敵する’Ballad de Johnny Jane’も収録。ヴォーカル／インストそれぞれ、アレンジも共に素晴らしい。
