今現在、全米での累計セールスが１２００万枚を突破したモンスターアルバム。（当時が８００万枚）オルタナティヴでは全米での最高セールスアルバムになる。（次がクリードのヒューマン クレイで１１００万枚）でも全米アルバムチャートでは最高２位。このアルバムって当初は地味〜に売れていたね。ニルバーナのネヴァーマインドが大ヒットして落ち着き始めた頃にやっと人気に火が付いた。確か丁度アルバムリリースから一年近く経過してた頃だったか。それからはあれよあれよとセールスを伸ばし、ニルバーナのネヴァーマインドが当時記録していた５００万枚をアッサリ抜いた。ある意味、こっちの（オルタナの）人気の方が’本流’でしたねぇ・・・。（笑）0 people agree with this review

この1stは、いつかぜひぜひリミックス、もしくはリマスターかしてほしかった一枚でした。正直、元盤は『風呂場か』っちゅうくらいリバーブが効きすぎていて、隠れてしまう音(特に金物系)が多かった。当時は、たぶんライブ感を出したかったんでしょうけど、逆効果でした。CD2はリバーブ感を極力抑えていい感じです。この音の違いは素人でもわかりやすいです。CD2のブレンダン・オブライエンのリミックスがメインと思っていいでしょう。しかし、2004年のベスト盤でも1stからリミックスして入ってるんですが(そのまんまではなかろう？)、なにより、別テイクの『Even Flow』が涙モノです。ぜひこのレガシー・バージョンと聴き比べてほしい。ケチってリイシュー盤を買わないように。CD1はそんなにリイシューと変わらないので、一度で二度おいしい方がいいでしょ。ドラムが細かくうるさいのがとっても良い時代のPJですね。1 people agree with this review

記念すべきPJの1ST。ALIVE、JEREMY他今でもライブでマストな曲が多く収録されている。発売当時、自分にとってはNIRVANAよりもPJだった。DVDを見ると当時のシーンを駆け上がろうとする勢いが感じられる。REMIX盤は以外と違いが感じられなかった。1 people agree with this review
