24 Preludes & Fugues: Nikolayeva(1990)

まずHMVに苦言を申しますが、第2回Melodiya録音(1987)と第3回Hyperion録音(1990)のﾚﾋﾞｭｰがﾘﾝｸされたままで、必ず切り離していただきますようお願い致します。わずか3年の時差ですが内容の違いは大きいです(過去のﾚﾋﾞｭｰは全てHyperion盤に対する評価だと思います)。最後のHyperion盤では表情が穏やかとなり、過去2回のMelodiya盤と比べ彫琢の厳しさは後退しましたが、より自在に、内面の奥深くから湧き出るような音楽です。87年録音で作曲家の墓碑を打ち立てた女史は、最後に自身のための墓碑銘を奏でているかのように、思えてなりません。

Many reviewers have stated that this recording is extremely fine, but perhaps if these reviewers were musically trained and able to read the notation in a score they would have realised how inaccurate, messy and amateurish the playing really is (see the comments about this recording and the lies told by Nikolayeva about her alleged association with Shostakovich on pages 410-411 of the revised 2006 edition of a book by Ian MacDonald entitled The New Shostakovich). Buy the superb Ashkenazy Decca version!
