カリブ海の港町ポートロイヤル──美しい総督の娘エリザベスは、子供の頃にウィルという少年から手に入れた黄金のメダルを今でも大切に身につけていた。ある日、町はキャプテン・バルボッサが率いる冷酷な海賊たちに襲われる。精悍な若者に成長したウィルは、剣を手に勇敢に敵に立ち向かう。だが、奇怪なことに海賊たちは心臓を剣で貫かれても甦り、決して死ぬことはなかった。
意外なことにバルボッサは町の財宝には目もくれず、その目当てはエリザベスの黄金のメダルにあった。海賊たちはメダルごとエリザベスをさらい、ブラックパール号で逃走する。エリザベスに思いを寄せるウィルは、彼女を救うために一匹狼の海賊ジャック・スパロウと手を組む。ジャックはバルボッサの過去を知る数少ない人間のひとりであり、恐るべき真実をウィルに告げる。バルボッサとその手下たちは呪いをかけられ、月の光の下でその忌まわしい姿をさらすというのだ。永遠に死ぬことを許されない、生きる屍の姿を。
そして、その呪いを解く鍵は、エリザベスの黄金のメダルが握っていた…。

良く出来たワクワクするストーリー。何度見ても楽しい。ジャックスパロウはジョニーデップの魅力が出てる良いキャラだと思う。シリーズの中で一番面白いし良く出来てると思う。0 people agree with this review
