'Heathen Chemistry': explosive, yes; experimental, no. Just another, great, Oasis album; the fifth they've recorded in the studio and the best, says Noel Gallagher, since 1994's 'Definitely Maybe' - "I'm 100 per cent that this is the second best record I've ever made. You've got to grant me some honesty; even with 'Be Here Now' when I got doorstepped outside Abbey Road and someone said 'What's it like?', I said 'It's pub rock man'. Producedby 'the band' and mixed by Mark 'Spike' Stent (U2, Madonna, Bjork), 'Heathen Chemistry' is the follow-up to 2000's 'Standing on the Shoulder of Giants', and the first to be recorded with the new line-up featuring Gem Archer (ex-Heavy Stereo) and Andy Bell (ex-Ride/Hurricane #1). The album offers up six new Noel Gallagher songs, three by Liam, and one apiece by 'new boys' Bell and Archer. Standout tracks include the Ramones-inspired 'Force Of Nature' ('Smoking all my stash/burning all my cash/bet you knew right away/it's all over town/that the sun's going down/on your easy life'), the acoustic-led 'She Is Love' and the epic anthem-in-waiting 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out'.

    Oasisの作品中、最も不当な評価を受けている作品です。僕にとっては。 ディープで濃厚なサイケ臭と浮遊感がするのは前作と同様ですが、メンバーの一新によってよりダークでシリアスな作品となっています。 前作からの「お気楽な雰囲気で一緒に歌えるイメージ（褒めてます）の脱却」が実を結んだようで、ガラガラでロックになったリアムの声によく似合う曲が多いです。 箸休めに可愛らしい曲が何曲か入ってるのも良いですね。 また、リアムの作曲能力の向上も見逃せません。10に漂うハードボイルドな雰囲気が、オアシスの作品には新鮮に感じられました。シングルだけの作品じゃ無いですよ！

    安っぽく格好をつけてギスギスしたリアムのボーカルがひどい(6以外)。1,3,5,6等いい曲あるのにもったいないアルバム。初期のころのような、柔らかさと強さを併せ持った声で歌って欲しかった。

    1st,2nd,とこのアルバムは良いです。B面集のヤツもよいが、。4thまではアレンジも金太郎あめだったけど、このアルバムはアレンジ、曲調とも抑揚があって良い。
