記念すべき1st。全体にブルースやソウル色が強く今のヒット曲から入った人には驚くほど渋いつくりだと思います。自分はデビュー当時からのファンですが初めてFMで『オレンジ』を聴いたときはかなり衝撃を受けました。関西出身の有望新人が出たことにかなりうれしかったのを覚えています。オススメは④⑥⑦⑧

学生時代特有の蒼っぽいクリエイティヴィティがあって、なかなか大好きなデビューアルバムです。「背中」の感傷的なLyricが印象的。「キャンディ～」は以降のスウェーデンポップ開拓へと導いた先駆けの様な楽曲。ミニアルバム的曲数な所もとても聴き易いです。洋楽的Musicに走るのでなく、Lyricの男女としての等身大な所が、実は何より好きなのかも知れません。

名曲として今も語り継がれる『Maze of Love』『オレンジ』『背中』が、まだ二十歳の学生の頃の作品とは・・・特に『オレンジ』は、あのスガシカオも大絶賛していたのでも有名。この後2nd,3rdで彼女の才能は大ブレイクします。日本人離れしたリズム感と素晴らしい歌詞は、洋楽マニアだった私が初めてはまった日本人アーティストです。
