ホロヴィッツらしい演奏、好感触でした。さほど、激しい衝突を感じなかったが、セルのオーケストラを操る技術も見逃せない。意外に調和をした素晴らしい演奏に思える。なにより、人間らしい音楽が聴けて、ファンとしては、ありがたい。0 people agree with this review

ミトロプーロスの代役として急遽指揮することになったセル。この人、幼い頃はウィーンで「モーツァルトの再来」とまで評された天才ピアニストだった。その彼が指揮者として当時「現存・物故を問わず最大のピアニスト」と評されていたホロヴィッツと相対峙するとどうなるか？結果は明白である。おそらくピアニストとしてもチャイコフスキーのピアノ協奏曲を熟知していたであろうセルは、至る所でホロヴィッツに過酷なまでの挑戦状を叩き付ける。それを超絶技巧でまるで嘲笑うかのようにセルに蹴り返すホロヴィッツ。まさに史上最高のトンデモ演奏だ！1 people agree with this review

ホロヴィッツ爆裂。ＬＰ時代から知っていますが、この演奏を凌駕する演奏は、今後とも現れないと思う。とにかく凄絶な演奏。聴いていて、こちらもはじけてしまいそうだ。1 people agree with this review
