UKクラブミュージックシーンの大物として Chemical Brothersと双璧を成す存在である、カール・ハイド(Vo/ G)、リック・スミス(Key)による Underworld;が、５年ぶり５枚目となるアルバム『Oblivion with Bells』を遂に完成！
2002年にリリースされた『Hundred Days Off』以降、ベスト盤『Underworld 1992-2002』のリリース、そして配信や12インチ限定でのリリース、『BREAKING and ENTERING』のサウンドトラック制作など、以前とはすこし違った形で活動をしていた２人ですが、そんな５年のときを経たオリジナルアルバムはダンスミュージックの枠を超え、"world of Underworld"(＝アンダーワールドの世界) を拡大させた、壮大なアート・アルバムに仕上がっています！
また、日本盤特典としてボーナストラックを収録！再発などでボーナスディスクが特典として付いたことはありますが、新作にボーナストラックが収録されることは、バンド史上初となります！
そしてスペシャル・エディションに付属するＤＶＤの内容は、先行シングルである「Crocodile」のＰＶのほか、『Oblivion with Bells』に収録の「Good Morning Cockerel」、未発表曲２曲をミックスした「Metal Friend」）のミュージック・ビデオ、アルバムのメイキング写真、2005年の幕張でのLIVEの写真、音と言葉とイメージのスライド・ショーが収録されているという超充実の内容となっています！
