    イエスの代表作の一つに上げていいだろう。 ’７０年代前半のプログレ志向は一層され、よりポップで分かりやすいサウンド作りとなった。 どの曲も念入りに作りこまれ、捨て曲がなく、素晴らしい出来だ。 　｢プログレはだめだが、イエスには興味がある。」 そんな人はまずこのアルバムから手にしてはどうだろうか？ そこから’７０年代イエスの良さを認識してもらえばいいと思う。

    最も狭義な意味でのプログレという概念から捉えた場合、決して評価されないのがこのアルバム。では駄作の烙印を押されるべき作品かと問われれば断じてＮＯと答える。 もしこれがなければ『危機』や『こわれもの』といった傑作を生み出した「かつてのバンド」として、イエスは振り返られるだけの存在に甘んじていた可能性がある。 彼らは一時代の枠に収められる程「小さな」バンドではなかった。この『90125』に於けるそれまでにない音作りは、彼らの音楽的許容性の広さを見事に証明している。プログレがあらゆる要素を取り込む極めて自由度の高いジャンルだとすれば、『90125』的アプローチをどうして批判することができよう。 好き嫌いはあるだろう。しかし、かたちだけを捉えての否定は真っ当な評価とは言えない。
