ヴァイス(1687-1750)が亡くなった年(バッハと同年)、彼はヨーロッパの最も偉大なリュート奏者、最も才能ある音楽家の一人として賞賛されました。ヴァイスの時代のリュートはルネサンス時代のものよりも大型化し、奏法も複雑になり、もちろん書かれた曲も精緻極まるものでした。このアルバムに収録された第52番はその中でも規模が大きくさまざまな手法を用いて書かれており、実に聴き応えのある曲です。若干規模の小さい第94番、第32番とともにじっくりお楽しみください。（ナクソス）

相変わらずBartoの演奏は耳に心地よい。対策の52番も良かったが、94番には解説にある通り半音階的でどこか東方の響きが入っているようで面白い。短いがPaisaneに特に楽しかった、 Weissについてはあまり良く分かっていないのか、MGG音楽辞典でも１頁しか記述がない。生誕地もBreslauではなく南南東に50kmのGrottkauであることが近年判明したらしい。ソナタの番号付けも確定していないのか、別のCDでは全然違う番号のものがある。 Bartoの演奏は最高だ。次のCDが待ち遠しい。
