とにかくタイトル曲の「Tupelo Honey」が素晴らしすぎる。昔ラジオでこの曲を聴いてからこれが収録されている本作が欲しくて欲しくて、でもまだCDでは再発されていなくて、かなりもやもやした記憶がある。そして歌詞カードのついていない輸入盤を見つけた時の喜びは昨日のことのように思い出す。個人的な解釈だが、この曲は恋人への愛の歌であると同時にロックという音楽そのものへの（根源的な）愛情を表現した歌ではないだろうか。「Tupelo」というのがロック界最初のスーパースターであるエルビス・プレスリーが生まれた町の名前だということを念頭に置いてこういう解釈になったけど、間違っていたらごめんなさい。何せ歌詞カードも何もない最初の輸入盤CDでずっと聴いていたので。そのタイトル曲以外にもカラッと乾いた感触の曲が多く、その後につづくヴァン・モリソンの長い道のりを前にしてのひと時の休息のような雰囲気の漂うアルバム。ラストの「Moonshine Whiskey」はタイトル曲に次いで好きな曲。緩急自在のヴァンのヴォーカルが素晴らしい。
