In September 2010 we issued an album called the V-Disc vocals (DSOD827) with the promise of later issues of the V-Disc instrumentals, well this is the first of two such recordings. The CD features tracks originally transcribed for broadcast to American servicemen stationed on various bases around the world after the conclusion of World War II, as such they became great moral boosters and also provided good entertainment for the locals who were able to receive the broadcasts. This CD contains jazz from the mid forties when the Swing Era was at it's peak and contains musicians who were it's finest exponents.
