アレックスとグレッグが戻っての２作目。ドラムは「デモニック」で叩いたジーン・ホグラン。期待するなという方が無理。のっけからライブでの大合唱が想像出来るキャッチーなコーラス。これぞテスタメント。分厚いリズムはジーンの手柄。グレッグも負けじとお馴染みのバキバキとしたベースを弾く。２人のアックスメンも安定した抜群のコンビネーションを聴かす。感情を昂ぶらす楽曲とアレックスのリードプレイ。テスタメント印は全開。快心の一作。

全曲が名曲と言って差し支えない。再録盤でこのバンドが気に入った方は、絶対にこのアルバムとThe Gatheringは聴くべき。80年代、もっと言えば“デビュー前にピークが来てしまったバンド”と言われるのもこれを聴けば分かる。今の路線も嫌いじゃないけど、この頃は有無を言わせぬ勢いがあって良かった。
