ハープを弾きながら歌う珍しいスタイルで評判を呼んだスー・エバンスの貴重なアルバムです。ジャズ界には同名のパーカッション奏者がおりますが、もちろん別人です。こちらのスーはハープ奏者の母親のもとに生まれ、幼い頃はハープを習っていました。しかし9歳でオペラ歌手を志し、やがてスタンフォード大学に入学。その頃から「歌うハープ奏者」として知られるようになりました。クラシック音楽の豊かな素養を持つ彼女ですが、このアルバムでは決してオペラティックに声を張り上げたりせず、語りかけるようなボーカルを聴かせてくれます。その容姿と甘い歌声から「スイート・スー」と呼ばれた彼女ならではの世界をお楽しみください。(jazzyellより)
