’13年発表｡約2年振り､5作目となる本作｡ここ数作､迷いのないｼﾝﾌﾟﾙな引き算ｻｳﾝﾄﾞが魅力のはずの彼らのｻｳﾝﾄﾞが少しﾄｩｰﾏｯﾁ(過剰)に聞こえていて､ちょっぴり残念に思っていたのだけれど､本作は初心に少し原点回帰するようなｻｳﾝﾄﾞでﾌｧﾝとしてはﾜｸﾜｸさせられた｡迷いのない一直線の､そのままｱﾝﾌﾟに差し込んだようなﾛｳな感触のｷﾞﾀｰ､ｱﾝﾆｭｲで官能的でｺﾞｰｼﾞｬｽなｼﾞｭﾘｱﾝの歌声｡｢ﾓﾀﾞﾝ･ｴｲｼﾞ｣を初めて聞いた時のような刺激と興奮健在｡R＆Rの進化形であり最強の完成形であると確信します｡

今の音楽業界は常に変わることが求められすぎている気がする。でも、元々シンプルでスタイリッシュなことが彼らが鮮烈だった一番のポイントだったんじゃないかな、と思うと、彼らに期待されるものではない気がする。ずっといい曲を聴かせてくれたら、彼らはずっといいバンドでいられる。前作はかなり複雑さを増して長大化していったけど、その反動とばかりに風通しのいい楽曲は何回聴いても心地よくて素晴らしい。エポックメイキングなわけじゃないけど、すべてのバンドがRadioheadである必要なんてないわけだし、彼らは彼らの素晴らしさをこうして感じさせてくれるのなら、これは文句なく名盤だと思います。
