1960年春に行なわれた歴史的なJATP（ジャズ・アット・ザ・フィルハーモニック）ツアーの貴重な音源が、収録から半世紀以上の月日を超えて蘇りました。スタン・ゲッツは1950年代後半から60年代初頭にかけて、アメリカを離れスウェーデンに住んでいました。そしてピアニストのヤン・ヨハンソンと知り合い、共同で音楽活動を繰り広げていました。この作品は当時の録音で、ヨハンソンのほか、オスカー･ピーターソン・トリオのリズム隊であるレイ・ブラウンとエド・シグペンがサイドメンを務めています。ゲッツは62年にボサ・ノバで大ヒットを飛ばしますが、本作はその直前の録音。ジャズ・スピリット全開の瑞々しいアドリブが味わえます。(jazzyellより)
