2008年の『残響』をリリース、世界ツアーに出たのちに事実上活動休止状態になっていたSigur Rosがついに活動再開！4年ぶり6作目となるアルバム『Valtari』！
合計8曲、54分強からなる新作は、彼らが2002年にリリースしたアルバム『（）』以来、長い間とっていなかった音楽的アプローチが満載。ちなみにアルバムタイトル『VALTARI』は、英語では「Steamroller」（日本語では蒸気ローラー、圧勝などの意）の意。

    '12年発表｡ﾖﾝｼｰ(vo)のｿﾛとかあったけど､ﾊﾞﾝﾄﾞは休止状態だった彼らの4年ぶりの新作｡昔のｾｯｼｮﾝから生まれた曲や合唱団とｵｰｹｽﾄﾚｰｼｮﾝのｺﾗﾎﾞ､様々な要素を織り交ぜた精緻なｻｳﾝﾄﾞ･ﾃﾞｻﾞｲﾝによって描かれた深遠で幻想的空間に巻き込まれていくｶﾀﾙｼｽ｡ｱﾝﾋﾞｴﾝﾄと称される作品は数あれど､このめくるめく陶酔感は圧巻｡
