このディスクは本当の意味での歴史的録音だ。１９６１年１０月１日。ショスタコーヴィチの交響曲第１２番の初演の記録録音！この時ショスタコーヴィチ自身がこの場で聴いていたと思うと感慨深い。しかし荒々しい演奏だ。ムラヴィンスキイとレニングラード・フィルは力一杯、捨て身の熱演をしている。１９６１年の録音だがそれにしては音質は悪い。アルチュニアンの「祝典序曲」の初演の録音の方は１９４９年ということもあり音質はより悪い。

ソヴィエトの珍しい作品・録音を積極的に紹介してくれているVeneziaからまた新しいCDが出た。ムラヴィンスキー指揮レニングラード・フィルハーモニー交響楽団によるライヴ集。ショスタコーヴィチの12番は初演とは思えない完成度の高い壮絶な演奏で、一度は聴いておいて良い！そして今年惜しくも亡くなった、アルチュニアンの祝典序曲は、彼の祖国アルメニアの民族音楽を取りいれた濃い作品、録音は恐らくこれだけではないかと思うが、疾走感が出ていて楽しい演奏だ。録音年代を考えれば音質は良いほうだと思う。
