　清冽でいて愉しい「ます」だ。仲間内で微笑みながらアイコンタクトとって室内楽を愉しんでいる雰囲気がある。カップリング（発売当時のオリジナルのもの）はフルート、弦、ギターの編成の佳品。再発売では違う曲がカップリングされてしまっているが、元の組み合わせのＣＤを夏に聴くととても池のほとりの木陰にいるようなの爽やかな気持ちになれる。　　「ます」は有名曲だけあって名盤は数多いが、このＣＤももう少し脚光を浴びてもいいのでは？　と思う。

　「冬の旅」はリートの枠を超え、もはやモノオペラというか独り芝居というかすごい作品だと思っている。ゲルネの深々とした声が私にとって「冬の旅」の理想。テノール（や他のバリトン）も歌っていてそれもよいと思っているが、それでもゲルネのこの盤に戻ってしまう。ブレンデルの伴奏もゲルネの「モノオペラ」を支えるオケのように雄弁。シューベルトの歌曲集、なんて甘い気持ちで手に取ると凍え死んでしまうのでご注意を。
