先日、全国ツアー決定を発表したSMAPの48枚目となるシングル「Moment」のリリースが8月1日（水）に決定！作詞・作曲は、サカナクションのボーカル山口一郎。数々のロックフェスでも大トリを務めるなど、いまロックシーンにおいて大きな支持を集めている注目のアーティストです。サカナクション山口一郎のSMAPへの楽曲提供は2010年のアルバム「We are SMAP!」に収録された「Magic Time」以来2度目。シングルへの楽曲提供は初めての事になります。

楽曲は、この夏を飾るのに相応しい高揚感あるリズムに、栄光の一瞬を勝ち取るまでの苦難や葛藤をポエトリーに描き出した山口一郎らしい楽曲。SMAPのメンバーが乗り越えてきた様々な瞬間をオーバーラップさせる力強い楽曲です。そして、この楽曲がリーダーの中居正広がメインキャスターを務めるTBS ロンドンオリンピック2012 テーマソングとしてオンエアされる事も決定！世界を舞台にたたかうアスリートを勇気づけるだけでなく、観る人すべての気持ちに届く1曲です！

Ｍｏｍｅｎｔはオリンピックのテーマソングとして有名ですが、私的にはカップリングの｢手をつなごう｣も大好きです。曲も歌詞も凄くいい感じです。この世の中にはいろんな人がいて争い事や辛いことがあるけれど、手をつなげは何とかなるんじゃないか？そう思える。そんな曲です。
